Hey, I'm Ed.
A freelance artist, illustrator, and animator with a deep passion for drawing and storytelling. I began my journey in traditional media, and over the years, I’ve expanded into animation, exploring both analog and digital techniques to bring ideas to life. A lot of my commercial work is rooted in music, where I’ve had the opportunity to create album covers, tour posters, and animated music videos for artists across the globe.
I created Paper Flippers: Create Your Own to share the joy of combining drawing and animation in a simple, hands-on way. This course is designed to help aspiring artists of all levels bring their sketches to life, build confidence in their creativity, and explore visual storytelling through flipbook-style animation. The course has 7 modules for 6 + hours of learning and practicing. It also includes full-length artwork tutorials! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.Â

Foundations & Planning
Start your creative journey by discovering what Paper Flippers are and how this course works. You'll explore inspiring examples, essential tools, and learn how to develop your concept, plan interactions, and design your flipbook layout with confidence.
MODULE 3&4
Sketching, Inking & Visual Style
Build your flipbook frame by frame with pencil and ink. Learn how to sketch clean, consistent drawings, use a light table for alignment, and refine your lines. Then, bring your sketches to life with expressive inking, mark-making, and optional collage elements to add depth and personality to your animation.Â
MODULE 5&6
 Combining EverythingÂ
Time to turn your drawings into a real animated flipper! In these modules, you’ll assemble your flipbook by hand, then learn simple, effective techniques to film and edit your creation. From construction tips to syncing your animation with music, this stage is all about making your work shine.
MODULE 7
Wrap Up
Wrap up your project by showcasing your final piece, learning how to share your work, and reflecting on your creative process. You’ll also get ideas for what’s next in your animation journey.
